Installing IIS on Windows Server 2003


Here is how to install Internet Information Services or IIS on Windows Server 2003

1.0 Log-in as Administrator
1.1 Go to Start->Control->Add or Remove Programs
1.2 Click Add/Remove Windows Components botton on the left the screen.
1.3  In the Windows Components Wizard, check the Application Server and Click
Details button
1.4 On the Application Server Console, Check all subcomponents of a Application server
because you are intended to do a install and test the application server. Others
components are maybe not required in the beginning but in the future needed.
1.5 Click OK
1.6 The installation need a CD-ROM that contain a copy of Windows Server 2003 file
system. And then click OK button.
1.7 Find Internet Services Manager in the Start Menu
1.8 Go to Start->Programs->Administrative Tools -> Internet Services Manager, You can see the name
of your Server or PC name on the left top of the tree, try to open the console if it is successfully installed the
IIS on your server.
1.9 To test if the installation is successful, Open your browser (IE, Mozilla, Chrome or any browser)->input 127.0.0.1 or localhost in the address bar and hit enter. And now should see the IIS index page that indicating that the installation is successful.
